Your Body is Constantly Working to Create Radiant Health.
Healing is easy. That’s right, you heard me. Healing is easy. The moment you cut yourself, for example, your body goes to work. You don't have to make a conscious effort to heal that cut, your body knows what to do. Your body is constantly working to create balance. Your body is constantly working to create radiant health. When you, your spirit and your mind, engages in the healing process... seeming miracles take place. You have the power to heal yourself.... with experienced support. I’m not talking about crazy voo doo or even good ju ju when you refuse to seek professional help either. I’m talking about a new paradigm of co-operative self-healing partnered with the liscensed professionals of your choice and someone like me. I’m talking about leaping into the incredibly exciting cutting edge science with your own consciousness!! I’m sure many of you have heard the fictional story about a man who lived in a home that was about to be flooded. Neighbors knocked on his door offering to quickly drive the man away to a safe location. He refused, stating that God would save him. Later on two rescuers in a zodiac knocked on his window to whisk him away to safety and again, he refused. When the man was confined to his own roof a helicopter flew overhead with a rope to save him, he refused. He believed God would save him. When the man, standing in front of the proverbial pearly gates lodged his complaint. the answer given was, “I sent a car, a boat and a helicopter!” Oops. The universe has been knocking on your door; You know you can heal, you just need some validation, inspiration, intuitive input and unconditionally loving support. Your doctor, is not God. I know that is a radical statement in the age of little blue pills but it is the truth. Your doctor is a superbly gifted, well intentioned and fantastically intelligent wo/man who is an important piece on your road to well being. When your doctor speaks about a spontaneous healing that defies modern science ....... oh wait..... s/he doesn’t speak about it. It is the white elephant in the room. Don’t let this ‘the world is flat’ and a 'doctors hands are so pure that they can not pass germs from one patient to another' mentality cripple your ability to manifest your own ‘miracle’. Remember that in 1706, the year Benjamin Franklin was born, an electric light would have appeared to be a miracle. I believe miracles are just proof that modern science still has a long way to go to catch up with explaining reality. Isn’t that exciting? We are still learning!
Did you know that medical schools have coined the term “MEDSTUDENTITIS.” “One study showed that seventy-nine percent of medical students report developing symptoms suggestive of the illness they are studying. Because they get paranoid and think they will get sick, they do”. Seventy-nine percent is a pretty sweeping majority for some of our brightest citizens to create their own illness and admit to it! We all know we can make our selves sick. We have all done it and we all know people who have done it. If we can make ourselves sick, doesn’t it make sense that we can make ourselves well? Before you fantasize about my head on a stick with angry pitch forks please know how deeply I apply the quote “Easier said than done,” to this scenario! I’ve been there myself, trapped in a quagmire of my own making and believing that I was 100% victim of my own life circumstances and my own bodies’ genetic weaknesses. I have healed myself of a “Permanent” disability in my left ankle, debilitating environmental allergies, postpartum depression and the horrific beginnings of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Doctor Lipton has stated that, “When we shift the mind’s interpretation of illness from fear and danger to positive belief, the brain responds biochemically, the blood changes the body’s cell culture, and the cells change on a biological level.” Take that in. after two decades of research and experimentation there is just so much to share. for now, experience the power of being heard, loved and cared for. I want to be a partner on your journey to vibrant well being! I believe it is time to share my secrets and infectiously positive beliefs! Why? Because, I wish for a world full of people with happy spirits in happy bodies on a happy planet. Now THAT would be a miracle, wouldn’t it..... but maybe I can help.

What Makes Me a Mystic?
As a child I was always acutely aware that I was never alone. I could feel all the supportive beings around me and I could also feel those who chose to live in the darkness. My first memory of receiving guidance consciously was when I was 5 years old. I was standing on my porch with an older friend who was having a hard time; she had just asked me a question that I had no idea how to answer. I moved my attention upward and thought to myself, "I hope it happens again." It did happen and my young friend was comforted and satisfied with my answers. I was first contacted by a disincarnate spirit when I was about 10 years old. A young girl came to me spirit, she was upset and confused; She explained to me that she was looking for her older sister and her mother because they had just been in a car accident together in England! I didn't know if I could do anything but I said a silent prayer asking for help and she just disappeared from my awareness. As I grew, into a teenager, I mostly lost touch with my gifts until I was about eighteen years old.
Graduating from High School prompted that age old question, "What's it all about?" I spent a day sitting on the dock at the edge of my mind, just fishing for an answer. My awareness dove into the all and silently back floated until the answer finally came. Suddenly, I was flooded with the sweetest energy.......... It came into me while also springing up from within me. It was so simple..... To simple..... It was just love. I was overcome with love for myself, the great unknown, my family, the neighbors, strangers on the street and people who had hurt me. I fell in love with the world, the tree's, flowers, bugs, sunsets and everything......... Absolutely everything. It's all about love..... That's it! Trust me....... Even knowing the answer........ Doesn't make it easy. Navigating through the world with love will bring all of your failings to the surface. When you slip into jealousy, anger, or depression (All just more complicated versions of fear) after having been in love with the world...... After knowing what life is all about it can be so disappointing. Even when you feel solid in your knowing, and are truly loving those you interact with, you are vulnerable to their quick judgments, cruel misunderstandings and devastating lack of love. You just have to keep lifting yourself back up, lifting your neighbors back up, and knowing when to ask for the right support. Remember that when people act out in ways that hurt you it is because they are in a fearful place and, honestly, you cannot be hurt by anyone without allowing it.
At nineteen, after a year of daily yoga, partaking in a teetotaling vegetarian diet, countless meditation walks and constant self healing books coupled with deep reflection ... my awareness grew quickly. I sat myself trustingly in the hands of the conscious greater GOoD, in the light/love/source and desperately wanted to know what my personal mission was. Finally, I took one full day away from my few responsibilities to meditate seriously on one question. As I did my yoga, journaled, drank my tea, ate my meals and sat in dreamy reflection I was constantly asking, "What should I do with my life?" I had sat in on some classes at the prestiges Bastyr pondering 7 years of college, in a big city, to become a Naturopath. I’m not a city girl. I was taking photography, humanities and literature courses in college and pondered whether I would be of the most service as a traveling journalist and photojournalist. My path as a spiritual healer was forever tugging at my east Indian wrap around skirt but this was 1991 when finding training in such fields seemed nearly impossible. So on and on went my day ... questioning, opening, praying, listening..... but nothing happened. I went to bed with a knowing, that was more like a hope, that I would have a meaningful dream ... that all would be clear in the morning. I awoke disappointed with no clarity of purpose. Nothing. As I was sitting with my morning tea, leafing casually through a life magazine I was struck by what I can only describe as an ethereal 'lightening'. I was suddenly in a conscious space of nothingness, nothing but the moment I was in existed. I completely lost touch with my awareness as little Angela, the human being fumbling along. Anything I had felt was important just vanished from my sphere of awareness. I was struck with an intense light, tears were streaming down my face like someone had turned a faucet on and I was in the midst of absolute unadulterated bliss. Pure bliss. Bliss. I was shown myself floating in the kitchen surrounded in this light and than........ I kid you not..... A deep booming voice (like a cartoon God) said, "You. Are. To. Help. Bring. The. Light. Here." THAT is my personal mission. I understood. I was in Perfect clarity. No more questions. Then, just as abruptly as it had started, it was over. How do I express the majestic ecstasy of those moments? The living light surrounding me, lifting me and moving through me? Some of it is in my poetry ... a tool to express the inexpressible. But most of it is in your future, waiting for you to experience on your own. It wasn't until that night, or possibly the next day, that I realized I still hadn't had my question answered in a practical way. "Wait a minute!" I spoke aloud to myself and whomever might be listening, "But, how do I bring the light here? Which direction do I go in?" Oh, how I struggled with that! It wasn't until years later that I realized that I hadn't been pointed in a specific direction because it didn't matter. It doesn't mater if we are bringing our gifts to the world as a janitor or a PH.D holding scientist. What matters, is that we are sharing our gifts. What matters, is that we are loving. Loving our partners, loving our politicians, loving ourselves.... loving our light and seeing it in everyone.
Since my first experiences, I have been to heaven and hell within and without. I have gained and lost powerful energy, I have lived abundantly and even been homeless at 7 months pregnant with twins. I have lived many years close to the bliss of that first experience with the light and also journeyed through the dark night of the soul in my thirties. Among to many mystical moments to list I have had a near death experience where I was taught that the light is consciousness.... is alive.... sentient..... And the source of the all. With the assistance of dear friends, I have come to realize myself as a healer, medium, animal communicator and occasional channel. I have been contacted by masters, angels, nature spirits, guides, star beings and disincarnates. This has given me a firm grasp on the inner workings of our great universe as well as a deep understanding that I really don't know anything. "It's the journey, not the destination." My trials with the dark have been the catalyst for me to find my personal power ... to learn how to ground the energy of the light into myself, others and our earth. We can be grateful for everything and when we are ... miracles can happen.
Why me? Only because I made the effort... I asked the questions.
and you can too....
... feel the magic.

The Hippie and the Soldier on Memorial Day
Late afternoon beer spilling, chain smoking, worn muscles, ready smiles and hardy laughs were at that picnic table by the pond. These are the men I love.... who love me. The warm sun on my face wasn’t half as pleasurable as my worn out heart feeling as though it were being held tenderly by them. My family. Crazy old stories spiced up with moments of profanity when ‘brainless voters’ or ‘overly zealous cops’ wandered in to sit at the table for a spell. David was once an EMT here while my father was the kind of police officer that this island -and country- needs again. They have been best friends for over 30 years. They remember what this island is all about..... so do I. David was born at the elementary school when it was his family farm and my dad learned to sail blindfolded in these northwest waters... my grandpa teaching him to feel the wind. They have a million stories, many of which I’ve heard repeated until my burning red eyes couldn’t take another minute of smoke. It’s funny to think how, in my more radical years, I would go home and change out of my clothes because I detested their smoke as much as my dad crinkled his nose at my Patchouli. “It smells like mold.” Was his standard comment. I often heard that and “If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.” This was his answer when I insisted, from inside my 1971 Volkswagon pop-top camper, donning my indian print wrap-around skirts and knee length hair, that I was NOT a hippie! This could send me into a “Why do we have to label and categorize each other” 2 hour tirade. Freedom is on every level.
So many years have gone by...... so many passionate debates....... so much water has rippled under the bridge. Who would have thought a green livin', liberal minded semi-feminist vegetarian would clash with a Republican, nudy calendar lovin', gun toting carnivore? Humor is our families survival mechanism so he makes a sport of poking fun at me. He has resigned to having a wayward daughter...... and though he’ll never figure out where he went wrong.... he manages to have fun with it. He has a sign up in his kitchen just for me....... “Vegetables aren’t food, vegetables are what food eats!” His truck once proudly sported a bumper sticker that read, “Earth First” in bold print. First seeing it from far away made my heart skip a beat with excitement, but as I drew closer I could read, “We’ll screw up the rest of the planets later.” My first high school activism was supported by PETA: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. One of my dad’s favorite shirts was “PETA: People Eat Tasty Animals” and “Vegetarian: Indian name for bad hunter.” Whenever we would both spiral out of control with our self important views, David would reel us back in with gentle reminders of the love we share. David has always been our glue. Drafted and trusting, he was forced to shoot in Vietnam but should be known as the kind of man who will take his shirt off for someone in need..... literally..... and he has.
Maybe they are why I can’t take myself or any issues to seriously. My views run deep but life is a crazy trip that runs us ragged. We don’t know everything, we never will.... there is no right way to live.......... only a right way to love.
To many people who protest against wars and virulently for peace forget that the majority of men/women who join the military, whether drafted or voluntarily, have the same deep level of good intentions that the protesters have. We are both warriors, in our own right, for something better. Warriors for goodness, safe living and liberty. Don’t let the media drama fool you. We are mostly GOoD people, ALL of us, and together we are stronger than any wrongs! Divided we are vulnerable.
My dad and god-dad are warriors and I am a peacenik, but there aren’t two men in this world who I love more. “Honor thy warrior, not thy war.” Peaceful Memorial Day Dad! I’m sorry.
Remember to hug a veteran and feel the magic....

Following this blog are two military stories from back in the day when a section eight meant a man didn’t have to fight in a war he didn’t believe in or be locked in jail like a criminal.
David’s personal story:
One basic training day, just before an inspection, a guy in my company took extra care to bleach the hell out of one of the toilets. Afterwards he took a big old glop of peanut butter and smeared it on the inside of the toilet bowl. When the gigantic Sargent, who was “Dumb as a box of rocks” according to David, discovered the ‘filthy’ mess in the bathroom his gruff disapproval showed on his hard face. It was that moment the drafted soldier decided to go suddenly bonkers. The soldiers’ eyes bugged out and crossed while his disjointed motion led him to the toilet. Once there, he reached down filling his right hand with the light brown goo and smeared it into his open mouth with bizarre mutterings. The sergeant turned himself around marched out the door of the barrack and preceded to puke his brains out. Of course none us knew what was going on until afterwards. We never saw that guy again and we never heard what happened to him...
Dad’s story that had been going around at the time:
There was this soldier in basic training and everywhere he went he was looking down and around. He would be in the mess hall, in formation, marching or even in the shower....... forever appearing to be on a serious scavenger hunt. He definitely had everyone convinced that he was a major nut case. Then one day his face brightened, he straightened his stance proud and with a firm grasp displaying his section eight orders, announced, “This is what I was looking for!”
For you old islanders to get a chuckle out of.......

Neslund meats! ROTFL!
Winking at a certain younger Veteran and cherishing the loving moments we have been able to share. You have helped me heal my relationship with my dad. You are an incredible man and will always have a place in my heart.

THE POWER OF OUR STORIES
I want to share some examples that highlight how impactful our personal stories are. We make stories up all day long about situations that arise in our lives. Sometimes we are correct and many times we are way off the mark. We might tell ourselves that the speeding tailgater behind us is a brash and pushy individual attempting to bully us into going faster. That very well could be true. The driver could also have just heard some devastating news and he
is
so caught up in his head that he isn't driving safely. Perhaps he suddenly feels ill and needs to get to a
bathroom asap. Perhaps he is just a rude driver after, but which
story is going to allow you to stay in your joy? When we share these made up stories we can really damage lives. When people in our lives make up their own stories about us, especially when they involve others, we can allow ourselves to feel devastated or we can align our walk with the truth of who we are and hope that time corrects it. It can be immensely difficult to let go without stating our side or sharing our intentions but we have no control over someone else's story.
1.) Okay... so this is just amusing but if it had been a different husbands story, a husband with less moral character or mental stability.... it could have been used cruelly. Just this morning a dear girlfriend gingerly pussy footed around a question that had been pestering her for a few months. Apparently, her husband was an audible witness to my supposed love crime. A few months ago, when they were visiting me, her husband specifically heard a male voice say the sentence "I feel like I'm hiding from the teacher." The husband is positive he heard those words bouncing down the hall in my home followed by lip smacking make-out sounds, when a young twenty three year old man, who was visiting me for the weekend, and I were alone in my living room. I'm forty. Now they sat on the knowledge of this imagined "indiscretion" trying to convince themselves that it was none of their business, even though I was in a relationship with someone else. Absolutely. But close friends don't usually want to be left out on such an adventure. Cougar pride or disdain aside.... we want to know! This young man and I have a purely innocent connection as fellow gypsies at heart seeking to unveil the secrets of the universe. This is why he was visiting me...... not to mention the beautiful island I live on. The husband who "witnessed" my wild abandon can not be convinced that his mind turned the garbled voices from down the hall into a terrific rated R story with absolutely no basis in fact. Would I tell my dear girl friend if I were sleeping with a 23 year old man? You bet! I am a woman after all! But, can you imagine the damage that could have been done to my romantic relationship had this beloved couple been inclined to share their story freely? Our friends, family and community do it all the time; most often with no malicious intent what-so-ever. We may want to stop and think first, confront openly without judgement... or just "Let go and let GOoD.
2.) My story: This summer I fell in love. Great right? I was a free woman. Well, unfortunately a very dear friend who I had dated seriously 3 years previously was triggered negatively by my positive. We both knew our relationship was not going to be romantic anymore and we transformed it back into the close friendship we had cherished before. He has dated since than and so have I. He was like family and an integral part of my daughters lives. Admittedly, I was concerned about telling him about my magical summer love and when I finally called him to let him know, he came right over instead of phoning me back as I had asked. When I opened the door, there I was with my new love visiting in the doorway. They locked eyes, one with the story that he was meeting a new friend and the other with the story that he was meeting a foe...... even a dangerous one. My dear old friend told himself and me that I had found someone else as a way to cut our ties. He told himself that I was many ugly things and that I had lured him over to my house on purpose... to hurt him. He told me that he was done being involved in my daughters lives. He wrote frightening letters. I was silent and in shock and than angry and betrayed. We had completely different stories. As a result two little girls got their hearts broken while he and I, once dear friends, lost each other... probably forever. He is so sure of his story and I am so sure of mine. Communication is so vital and so tricky. We have no control over anyone else's story and many of us are driven mad by this. We have to let them go... we can't let the stories control us.
Our personal stories can be as simple as what we believe we can wear and what we believe we can't wear. When I was a young gypsy chick I would be complimented on my original 'fashion' style frequently. I cant tell you how many times some fabulous woman, admiring my garb, told me that she "Could never get away with wearing that." I couldn't understood why people couldn't just wear whatever they loved...... who is this imaginary critique demanding they stick to societies popular norms? Obviously this just isn't an area that I have a story about other than.... I'm experimental and I love clothes. Over the years I have conformed with a more mature "successful" look but I always felt like an imposter. What a silly story to tell myself. I didn't feel as authentic in more conservative outfits but what is inauthentic about trying to look professional? Growing a business and doing what society is most comfortable with to better my chances for success is a fine choice for a mother supporting her daughters single handedly. I finally dropped that story and settled on a sort of hybrid look. Our private stories about ourselves and our lives might be the most damaging because they run deep and are highly emotionally charged with our history, fears and desires. We might tell ourselves that we aren't smart enough to finish college, do any math or get a novel published. Maybe a parent fed you a dis-empowering story when you were young. Maybe they never bothered to listen to you, which taught you that you didn't have anything worth saying. The possibilities are endless and they can hold us back decades until they are cleared out. After growing up with so much alcoholism in my own family I am no stranger to the kind of pain that can be inflicted with these powerful personal stories. Don't even get me started on the twisted meanderings of the pickled mind. Remember! You are the author! You can rewrite everything, everyday with a more positive perspective.

TOAST THE UNIVERSE!
In our lives there is always a reason to toast! Life can be hard. It
is easy to slip into a pattern of negativity when we habitually focus on
everything that is going wrong. Practicing non-gratitude drains the
color out of our lives and depletes our energy reserves. Looking on the
bright side of life is exponentially more difficult when we are depleted
- exhausted.
Quite honestly, I've had plenty of excuses to be depressed lately. I gave seven years of my life's blood to building a local business (while being an ONLY parent) to pay for a home for my children to have as security throughout their lives. This is especially important to me because one of my daughters has Cerebral Palsy and will need help throughout her life to enjoy quality living. I have no one else to rely on for this... it is up to me. A daunting task but I have been driven by love. Driven to give up sleep. Driven to enjoy being social outside of my home only about 6 times a year. Driven to grocery shop so quickly that I actually got heart pains for the first three years. THAT is stress and stubborness my friends! After everything I sacrificed to build security for my children, about 3 months ago my business just petered out. I built up fantastic testimonials, mountians of respect in the local medical industry and priceless experience that honed my skills as a hospice caregiver. My responsibility's weighed heavily upon me 24/7 seven days a week without a day off...... almost EVER! Now, I haven't been able to pay my mortgage since August! I have no idea If I will be able to keep our home.
I'm starting my new business with Empower Network and really hopeful that it will pay off! I need a high paying job with flexibility to care for children and pay for our home. So... you see....... I could get all down in the dumps and jump into victimhood..... but how would that move me forward into something better? Sure... I have had my moments, days and even a month where I was feeling super low.... but I picked myself back up. There is a quote that goes something like this: The true measure of a man is not how many times s/he falls, but how many times s/he gets back up! Well world.... I'm up damn it! Not only am I up, but I am toasting the universe with one glass of Champagne! You have something to toast! You can use alkaline water, a cup of tea or a gourmet chocolate to join me! Go ahead! Toast the light! Toast to your future! Toast to your now!
Feel the magic...

Not only am I up, but I am toasting the universe with one glass of Champagne! You have something to toast! You can use alkaline water, a cup of tea or a gourmet chocolate to join me! Go ahead! Toast the light! Toast to your future! Toast to your now!

Competition versus Inclusion
So..... I was born with a lack of that competitive drive that helps motivate us to find our greatness. In the past, this caused me much pain due to the lack of successes I could show the world. I had nothing to validate the greatness I felt on the inside. I had no self esteem connected with my personality. When I did find love for myself it was love for the light inside me, the part of me where God/Goddess shined through to others. My best part... when I was in my best place. So, of course, I strove to be in that place of love as much as I could. I was always in life for the joy, silliness and pure experience while secretly feeling like a loser when around the people playing by the rules of life so seriously. Quite frankly, I didn't even understand half of what went on socially in high school until my own children were in kindergarten; that is when I realized how many of the 'adults' were playing bizarre little games. It was understanding these interactions that shed light on my teenage years. It was much easier to be authentic when I was clueless. Becoming aware of the judgements, social boxes and expectations was a challenge that occupied my mind for a couple of years when around groups of people. Pile being an empath and feeling others lack of sincerity, buried emotions or unkind thoughts of me and I just wanted to run away. I wasn't sure how to be authentic and safe at the same time so I stayed quiet or took the honest and bold route which was never really understood or appreciated. As I have grown and evolved, I have realized that many of the super competitive people who fooled me into thinking they were the ideal, really aren't. My first reaction was to reject them back, but I soon came full circle and found compassion for their limited ways. So bound up in their appearances on all levels that many of them miss much valuable time in their core. Throwing caution to the wind and living in a way that truly embraces all who cross your path is a blessing full of gifts for your soul. It comes down to inclusion versus competition. Loving versus fearing. It is a GOoD and lofty goal for most... including myself. I must admit that I bought into the competition crap for a few years while sorting all this out. I silently lashed out with my own judgements until the negative jumble in my head was taking up to much precious space... edging out joy. Having love for those in your life who may hurt you, makes you vulnerable, but if you love yourself enough to let go of their story (their projections) you will find yourself growing stronger... strong enough to love them unconditionally. You are the author of your own life, don't be held back by some imaginary list of must do achievements! Live for yourself! A genius is born and a genius dies everyday - unknown to the world. You are a gift. Don't let your dreams go. Empower yourself. It is more difficult to be successful in this world if you don't play by societies rules but I would like to encourage you to try.... because the rewards are far richer!
Be yourself! Love yourself! Love everybody!

LESS LEFT BRAIN - MORE RIGHT BRAIN
Devoted brain scientist Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor woke up having a stroke one morning. A neuroanatomist being able to study her own brain from the inside out during her stroke was a great gift to humanity. When fully recovered, she wrote A Stroke of Insight and enlightened many a lucky Ted Talk attendee with her experiential discovery. It took her eight years of hard work to recover her previous faculties and that is inspiration enough for those of us who take our blessings of health for granted. We all know the brain has two separate hemispheres but did you know that they process in completely different ways? Dr. Taylor explained that, for the computer literate person, it is as if the right brain is our parallel processor and our left is the serial processor. I’m not a computer genius so I was more enthralled with how anatomically separate the right and left hemispheres are from each other. If you ever see an actual human brain you will notice that the two halves are barely woven together at the bottom. They really look like two brains.
Yes, it’s true, I had never heard the word neuroanatomist before. I’m totally right brained and unqualified to write this article. Heck, I barely made it through algebra in high school but concepts are my thing! I love to ponder possibilities.
The left brain, quite literally, provides our physical boundaries, separateness and analytical abilities. According to Dr. Taylor it is as if our left brain analyzes what it is analyzing. I’m sure we have all had one of those nights plagued with a wrenching case of insomnia! The left brain directs everything from our pincher grasp to our hold on memories and emotional baggage. It gives us the ability to walk, talk and think organized thoughts. Gee, seems like everything is covered with just one side of the brain, huh? Not the GOoD stuff!
The right brain is in charge of the ever expanding now. While the left brain creates separateness, the right brain is aware of only oneness; a connection to everything. When Dr. Taylor experienced her right brain only, for moments during her stroke, she felt expansive to the point of being unaware of the boundaries of her body. She looked upon her own form with a kind of detached awe at it's primitive shape. She stated, for example, that her perception of her own hands made them appear claw like. She was a part of everything. She was euphoric. She was overcome by this awareness and forever changed.
Quoting her is the most respectful and inspiring way to share her thoughts on her right brained moments.
“I pictured a world filled with beautiful, loving, peaceful, compassionate people and they choose to step to the right of their left hemispheres. We are the life force power of the universe with manual dexterity and two cognitive minds. We have the power to choose moment by moment who and how we want to be in the world. Right here, right now I can step in the consciousness of my right hemisphere where we are, I am, the life force power of the universe. I am the life force power of the 50 trillion molecular geniuses that make up my form at one with all that is... or.... I can choose to step into the consciousness of my left hemisphere where I am a single individual, a solid separate from the flow. Separate from you, I am Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, intellectual, neuro-analasyst. These are the we inside of me. Which would you choose? Which do you choose? And when? I believe that the more time we spend choosing to run the deep inner peace circuitry of our right hemispheres... the more peace we will project into the world and the more peaceful are planet will be..”
So basically if we, as a society, grow to value our right brained ‘geniuses’ the way we value our left brained geniuses... we might have a chance at world peace. What would happen in our lives if we spent a little more time in our right hemisphere and a little less time in our left hemisphere? I double dog dare you to find out!

HOW TO FEEL MORE JOY!
Okay, so you understand that happiness
really does help create wealth. In the middle of a rotten day, or an
extremely challenging year, how do you create that leverage in your life
out of thin air? We all have those down in the dumps days and may want a
quick way to lift our mood. It is simpler than you might think. Gandhi
asserted that "Love begets love and hate begets hate," the same philosophy holds true with happiness. Joy creates joy! Are you convinced? Okay, time for some action steps! Do something you LOVE
to do! Make time to be selfish for 2 minutes a day or a whole weekend
if you can swing it! Start somewhere. Start anywhere! When you begin
doing anything that makes you happy
it energizes you! Sometimes you have to be stubborn about it. Dig your
heels into the earth explaining to whoever dares to get in your way that
the next five minutes are all yours! Be luxurious with your happy time! Do anything! Anything but TV. You need to fill yourself up not be filled by someone else's creative happiness. You want to check IN to your joy, not check OUT of your life. That is the most important point I can make here. Check in. Have fun! Be present. Get happy!

How Happiness Creates Abundance
Some days fill our hearts with a great loving madness and other days seem to deflate our souls in such a way that we want to spend the day in bed! Nobody ever said life is easy but there are ways to feel good more and bad less! We have an ever expanding capacity for deepening levels of HAPPINESS but it is a step by step process. Learning to utilize the energy of our feelings can be the magic behind our manifestations. When we are contented, blissful or depressed we attract more situations in our lives that support those feelings. What do you want more of in your life? How can you attract the abundance you dream of? How can you start feeling more joy? Start with being grateful for what you have. If you decide to take notice of the moments that bring you those happy bursting inner bubbles and really "cash in" on them with pure presence and awareness you will have planted a seed for another joyous moment. Can you imagine how that can snowball in your life causing destiny to line your life with a silver lining? Of course the bumps in the road will still come; you wouldn't want to lose those chances to grow anyway. But! Your state of mind will be so much stronger, and your daily life so much more in the flow, that you will be able to stand up to your challenges with an untouchable depth of delight. Almost like a tiny secret candle warming your heart with light even in the hour of your darkest grief.
Let me share an example with you to clarify. I'll insert a made up moment and play it two different ways. Let's say Buttercup (Why yes I am a fan of Princess Bride!) is walking down the street running an errand. She has an armful of packages and a man bumps into her knocking everything down. Buttercup can CHOOSE to react to this with love or fear.
If her reality is spiraling downward and draining her energy she might get upset with this man and shoot him a dirty look. If he is having a rotten day, this accident combined with her negative energy might compel him to distance himself from the experience and just walk away without even apologizing. When Buttercup is left alone to pick up her packages she may be deeply saddened by this mans apparently callous nature. In fact, she may choose to blow the feelings up relating them to how disconnected people seem to be in general. She may even begin to feel like one of the last nice people left in the city! Can you imagine how this attitude can out picture through out the rest of her day, year and life? It is not an energy that can bring opportunity and forward motion.
If Buttercup has already "cashed in" on several positive moments in her day her energy will be spiraling upward which would give her what she needs to laugh it off and beam a smile at the man. Now this mans self made rotten day was worsened by running into this woman he now feels obligated to assist. Helping her pick up her things is making him later than he already was but somehow her lightens begins lifting him ever so slightly. He wonders what it is that she has, that makes her so annoyingly jovial. When the corners of his grumpy lips turn in to signs of joy, buttercup utilizes her skills of being present in the moment and plants yet another seed for some positive future happening.
How can this translate into abundance for Buttercup? Maybe this man was in such a hurry because he was late on his way to speak about how Empower Network has quadrupled his monthly income in the last 5 months. Maybe he is so touched by her kindness and sparkling smile that he invites her to come along and even pays for her first month as a member. Maybe they really hit it off so he decides that she will be the person he picks to mentor for free this year until her income triples! The possibilities are unlimited!
Yes, happiness does help create abundance!
So... get happy. Just do it!
Maybe even flush the Prozac and...

If you want it, FEEL it!
I may be Mark Victor Hanson’s biggest fan! He is a marketing guru
and what I refer to as a prosperity consciousness advocate! He is wealthy, a genius,
inspiring, a soulful philanthropist and committed to giving away ONE BILLION dollars in his
lifetime! ONE BILLION DOLLARS!! What kind of wealth and love does a person need to possess in order to attain such a lofty goal? It all started with believing in himself and believing in possibilities. That is the kind of
wealth I believe I can attract and begin to manifest with Empower Network on my
side!!!
I am so moved by the commitment of David Sharpe and David Wood to create an ethical money making system that is a terrific marketing tool and offers a first rate marketing education!! They are putting their ideals into action with high integrity to “Fight the forces of evil!” They are eager to lift us “little” people because they honestly want to see a better world. They have their own imperfect backgrounds colored with set backs like addiction or poverty. They know first hand how hard it can be to make our dreams come true. They believe in us. All we need to do is believe in ourselves and start the journey to wealth with love! Won’t you join me!?
So many of us living in lack consciousness simultaneously desire more money while also feeling shame around having to much. We often judge the rich members of our communities as greedy. When we do this we are sending confusing signals to the universe. Loving the earth and all it has to offer while believing money is a dark force is like loving your partner but thinking sex is dirty. It is a fractured way to live. I'm asking you to consider a more wholistic view of money as a resource. Be willing to read about money issues and face your blocks to your own fortune! Imagine and feel the life you would create -the world you would create- with more money. Lets get rich together while we learn about the worldwide marketplace available to all of us EQUALLY on the internet!
If you want it, FEEL it!

Beyond Thankfulness
Thanksgiving seems to evoke a variety of visions, feelings and hopes in all of us. For some of us tradition itself creates a comforting and predictable day of family, turkey and football. For some it is a day to dig a little deeper into our thankfulness, donate time and maybe indulge in a nutroast. For others it is a day to boycott all together because it has become a lie and a shame. For others still it is a serious day of mourning. It pushes an ancestral button of betrayal, displacement and slaughter. This unfathomable loss must be a pain that is woven directly into their DNA. Without reiterating the details of this holidays origins I’d like to address what it has become and humbly suggest what it might be.
At the heart of this day we have a celebration of monumental compassion given to the Pilgrims by the wise Indigenous peoples of this land. Many of us tap into this deep gratitude while partaking in our laughter and libations. We share our abundance with joy thus acknowledging it. We “pay it forward” by reaching out happily to give to those in need. It is as if we have some unconscious remembrance of a life saving kindness woven into our own timeless being. For many others it is a symbol of betrayal and possibly a squelching of faith in goodness being returned for the benefit of all. It is a reminder of homelands being savagely taken through trade, tricks and murder. It could make one wonder if sharing is even safe.
What is missing from this day of plenty is precisely what it is supposed to be a symbol of... a coming together of everyone... to share and be grateful together. When we celebrate this day of friendships forged while sweeping the brutal betrayal under the rug we fracture our souls with it’s inauthenticity, cheating ourselves out of an incredible potential for evolvement. Could we simply admit the mistakes and even teach them to our children. Can we forgive the pilgrims and offer our sincere apologies in their names? Can correct the past with right action today? What if we could be forgiven? Humans are fragile and when ruled by fear we are dangerous. The pilgrims were ill prepared, arrogantly religious and horribly greedy. They were also teeming with courage, dreams, hopes and faith. We can forgive them and we can celebrate them and we can apologize for them. We can reach our hands out and use our beating hearts to direct us. A true apology is a laborious kindness in action. We can ask our indigenous neighbors how we can help. We can do what is asked of us.
We can all celebrate the healing, the lessons learned and the love growing. We would empower our beloved land as a beacon of healing with balance, truth and right action. We would light up something wonderful within ourselves. Something as simple a flower offered to a native American neighbor can plant a seed of acknowledgment that allows healing to begin. Love your love light in action.

Permission to Play !
Many of us are so busy trying to survive, we forget how simple it can be to thrive. Our days may overwhelm us with financial and social obligations, nurturing our family/friends, household duties and 'saving' the world but our moments are ours. When we tweak our perspective a bit to realize life as a series of moments we create opportunities to 'dance' our own power into our day. We can choose to pay our bills in stark coldness with an attitude of lack or we can plug in our favorite instrumental tunes while we write each check with gratitude. Being able to pay even some of our bills is worth a little thankfulness in today's economy. We can run through our list of household chores breaking a sweat while cursing the dirt or we can make up our most 'dancable' playlist and rock out with our mop mic. Just invite the dust to salsa into your eco-friendly swiffer. ( Link below ) Our moments are ours. My favorite time out of time is when I'm able to string many moments together into a long line of playtime with my daughters. A friend recently brought over a mini mountain of old magazines and poster board suggesting we make collages. Soon the dining room suffered the great paper clipping storm of 2011 with thigh high paper drifts and sunny satisfied smiles. We all believed we put Picasso to shame. How will you decide to spend your next precious moments? Let's give ourselves and each other permission to play.

Going Within
"Meditation refers to any form of a family of practices in which practitioners train their minds or self-induce a mode of consciousness to realize some benefit." - Wikpedia
Don't let the pseudo-spiritual media hype fool you. (That is a whole separate blog entry! Coming soon!) Meditation is as simple or as complicated as you want to make it, but it is ALWAYS beneficial! Everyone meditates in one way or another. I wonder what your meditation practice is. Do you take quiet walks or baths? Do you garden, knit, paint, play an instrument or do your housework with a quiet presence? Do you sail, hike, or swim with your attention fully on your body, on your experience? Do you get where I'm going here? You meditate. Now if you add the understanding that when you are fully present in a moment with one activity you can access your intuition, your stillness...... your sacred inner peace. You can crowd out all the worries or responsibilities by concentrating intently on what you are enjoying. Give yourself to the feelings your activity inspires in you. You may find that you crave more peace. You may want to try doing even less. You can find a view, a sunset or even a simple flower and allow yourself to get swept up in the pure inspiration of it until nothing else exists. When you do this consciously you set up a new energetic pattern for yourself. The deeper you go the more you reset the level of contentment you are able to call forth when you need it. It gets easier and easier. It's important to take moments in the nothingness. To take moments to let go of all the outcomes you are struggling for. If you haven't yet..... take a breath. Your power is in your breath. Inhale and exhale slowly and deeply until you feel yourself at one with that sunset. It has been said that prayer is speaking with source and meditation is listening to source. I'm hoping to inspire you to ground, breath, open, be thankful and listen.

Baloney Compost Revolution
Change is in the air. We all feel it. We are all fighting it and bathing in it, in our own ways. Change highlights the unknown, and ultimately pushes us to expand into a growing faith in the universe, and even more importantly, in ourselves and each other. We can take up our own brand of prayer and belief in a higher power, but I dare say, nothing is more settling than trust in our own ability to cope with the mysterious unknown. “Hands that help are holier than lips that pray,” advised Sai Baba. We have it all within. Yes, the world is a mess, but we are capable.
I remember contemplating the meaning of life as a teen and having many a heated a discussion with my dad. “You know Dad,” I would start, “Really...... all everyone wants, is to be happy. All we need to do to be happy is be treated kindly. Yet, we seem to be to preoccupied or stupid to treat each other with kindness.” What I didn’t understand at that tender “All anyone has to do to be free in a communist country is stand up and BE free,” age was that treating people with kindness creates happiness. Even being treated unkindly creates happiness. Happiness is ours to have. It is a gift we give ourselves when our tolerance becomes compassion and finally grows into love for our aggressors. Love with solid boundaries of course. When we let our hearts move forward into love for those whose own unhappiness motivates more injustice, we reap the rewards. We begin bathing in love. I was often kind back then but I didn’t have compassion for those who were unkind to me. It seemed so unfair that they could exclude me, judge me, or speak cruelly of me when I was intending to lift the world. Actually, they’ve helped me lift myself into a deeper, more steady space of love. The funny thing about love is...... baloney just composts..... it actually grows more love. Love makes you feel happy and motivates you to make the world a better place. It really is that simple. I certainly haven’t always been quick to compost the hurtful baloney, but eventually it happens, and I find myself more easily growing soul flowers to share with everyone I encounter.
We really are an inventive, naturally humane, and capable lot. When we are in fear we create chaos. When we are in love we create paradise. I believe in us. This change is love. In the spirit of this revolutionary time I’ve recreated one of Gandhi's famous quotes. Be the LOVE you wish to light up the world.

Feel the magic . . .
Sundrips
Move my soul
to the beat of LOVE
Open hearts
Open minds
Get down to business
Crack open the SUN
Let the rays fall
into our mouths
Let us eat together
Sharing it all
while it drips
off our chins

Lost Blog
I have been unable to access the blog I started with 4 years ago so I created a new one. Here is the link to my original Blog. http://loveyourlight.blogspot.com/
Sudden Silence
Tina, Your deeply soulful and bravely naked blog inspired me. Your story , the sacred offering of your lost child, validated my own pain. By you loving and honoring the child you lost from your womb, you gave me permission to do the same. My hope in entering this blog is a sort of healing “Pay it forward” effect. Perhaps I will inspire yet another story to be shared as a statement to the power of openhearted sharing linking us all together.

On a morning in October 2005 I awoke with the acceptance of my pending divorce. This acceptance opened me up and expanded my thoughts...... as acceptance does. It had taken me three weeks to settle into the idea of a terrifying and exciting new future. Doors closing. Doors opening. I had suddenly realized, while bathing in that sweet early morning space between worlds, that I was pregnant.
While heading to the drugstore, for the opinion of science, with my three and half year old twins all buckled up and busy, we passed a colt...... nursing. That was the moment doubt reluctantly, but dutifully, wandered off. I knew I was pregnant. “This is impossible,” I reasoned with the universe, “I’m going to be all alone.” How will I physically meet the demanding needs of my child with cerebral Palsy, care for an infant, nurture Eden and put a roof over our head with food on our plates? Everyone is going to lose. Can I even carry infant gear, while maneuvering Lili’s walker and comforting her when she falls? Will I have anything left for Eden?
After three home tests I was convinced of new life stirring inside me. Within hours, love had melted away fear and logic was replaced with faith. I hoped he was the boy who had tapped on the shoulder of my soul when I was 24. I had felt him hanging around but never breathed a word to anyone until two different intuitives volunteered the same information out of the blue. My partner had refused to allow him to come through at that time so I felt it only fair to honor the fathers desire. Within a year and a half I could no longer feel his nudges... he had left. I couldn’t help but wonder if he was back.
Feeling like a ridiculously emotional and unreasonable woman I was slightly terrified to share the news. I was delightfully surprised by friends and family offering such loving support with hugs, encouragement and faith. Everyone was happy, everyone except his father. His father was more than unhappy, he actually accused me of conceiving on purpose to save our monumentally unsupportive marriage. It was quite clear, when the audience of friends and strangers were absent, that he never wanted to be a father at all. In our ten years of childless partnership I had perfected Fertility Awareness which afforded us much sexual freedom. F.A. is not effective right after the birth of a child and the mother has to be getting at least 5 solid hours of sleep every night before it can be a safe method again... I had averaged 2- 3 hours for years. Knowing I never wanted another child with a man not wanting to be a father, I began suggesting he get ‘snipped’. A vasectomy is such a simple procedure compared to what a hysterectomy takes from a woman's body. I left one informative brochure on his pillow and mentioned it one more time, but it was completely rejected. So, I began exploring all the other modern methods. Each new method I tried was systematically rejected by the same man who was begging me for constant sex. This kind of situation was a familiar corner my husband constantly pushed me into on many levels of our lives.
The reality of being pregnant, while going through a divorce, was cruelly highlighted by the baby’s father clinging to the notion that I had done this on purpose . After the days upon days of accusations had finally settled, like an airborne virus that dies and falls to the ground ....... came the nagging. This was intense pressuring, from my husband and his manipulated ‘allies in abuse’ to have an abortion. This increasingly angry request came as a never ending, daily missile strike in front of our twin girls. I was used to these missile strikes regarding whatever the issue of the day was and towards the end of my marriage I found I could not find a shelter far enough under ground to avoid the barrage. After he gave up on the abortion he began reading my old herbal pharmacology book. I found it ear marked to all abortive herbs and he even read pages out loud to me in an attempt to convince me to take some of these herbs. No meal, play date, phone call, project or game the girls and I were in the middle of was safe from his one man mission to convince me to take these herbs. He eventually moved into an unrelenting demand that I go to Seattle for a naturally induced miscarriage. He even charmed a woman from the clinic into trying to convince me to have this procedure done and forced me onto the phone with her.
This campaign culminated one morning when he woke me up at 5 am telling me to get ready to go to Seattle because he had made me an appointment. He was posturing in a threatening manner and raising his voice in front of our sleeping girls. This was a typical and effective way to control me. I meekly whispered “Okay,” in my own tired survival language and followed up with the worn out request, “Please don’t wake the girls.” His voice softened in triumph and he ordered me to get everything together while he took a shower. My mind was a rush of adrenaline that directed me with a steadiness my shaking body didn’t feel. After listening for the shower water I ran quietly back to my girls. I prepared the car while my limbs turned to Jell-O and than ran to my children simultaneously bundling each sleepy form at lightening speed while sing-songing about our crazy early morning adventure. I doubt I took a breath of oxygen until turning out of our driveway towards a girlfriends welcoming home.
I came home in the evening to infuriated yells, accusations and a strong swift kick to the stomach that I managed to block.... all in front of my girls. I spent the night in tears and by the next day, the violent carping had stopped. In the wake of this sudden silence things were back to ‘normal.’ He brought more gifts of delicious fresh juices and homemade milks. Eventually, I did suffer a miscarriage. Yes, I did wonder.
A woman’s soul seems to be ever expanding, it plumps with pains and overflows with joys we cherish. Go ahead and feel. Feel everything.
FEEL THE MAGIC....
Below is a poem I wrote minutes after the miscarriage.
To Noble
You came in the dark of early morning
The space you filled was only open
after finally accepting my divorce
Your first whispers were of Nausea
denied chicken cravings
and a familiar softly growing - glowing power
with the unexplainable fullness of a busy womb
My soul reaches out to stroke you
Are you really there?
Fear strangles me
as the twins and I run to town
for the opinion of science
Logic grabs a loud speaker to reason with my heart
“I can’t have another child right now!”
My breaks screech as I’m drawn to a nursing colt
lapping up momma’s joyous nourishment
Now, I know you are there
Three plastic white scientists are in positive agreement
so.... you and I seek time to be alone
“Everything will be different for you.”
Rants my river of reason within
“Your father isn’t interested.”
Your answer comes in a calm, “It’s okay.”
“I think you’ll need a crib rather than my bed.”
“I may wean you at a year old.”
“Naps will be expected not bargained for.”
“You’ll have leftover pink blankets!”
“It’s okay,” our merging answers, “It’s okay.”
Our love fly's up
into the center of the sun
It sears the fears
their only ashes, raining down
while we dance in the blue light
“You’re my baby boy aren’t you?”
Somehow, through the weak boundary of skin
my hand embraces you
Our walk begins - Mother and son
Through my belly button, I tickle your toes
You were 7 weeks of pure, solid and sure
True faith, is smiling into an unknown future
We shared our dream
Beloved ones cheered and
embraces took over the world
...... until
The blood began to drip
“Will you stay?”
Faith crashes into mans cement
“Will you stay?” is the silent scream in my heart
Pain drowns our dance in blood
It flows - It flows
Until the world becomes red and you are gone
For a moment....
the silence
threatens my existence
You were never just a thumbs worth of gray matter
I needed you
You brought strength, wisdom and empowerment
When I needed it most
Thank you,
Mom
